By choosing to upgrade your systems rather than purchasing a new one, you can rest assured that you are helping to reduce the extensive amount of greenhouse gases emitted during the manufacturing process of new electricals. Not only that, but you’ll also be saving yourself and your business money by updating the specific areas of your technology necessary rather than the entire device.
Furthermore, the amount of unnecessary waste produced can be significantly reduced if more people replace the necessary parts of their hardware rather than opt for entirely new systems altogether.
Aside from the cost and waste benefits of using refurbished parts, there are several more advantages to upgrading your technology. These include running optimally and prolonging your system’s life, ensuring you receive your money’s worth and continue to impact the environment positively.
Packaging
According to WRAP, the world produces 141 million tons of plastic packaging annually; it’s undeniable that plastic’s effect on the environment is significant. At Origin Storage, we’ve chosen only to use packaging that is a plain cardboard colour rather than the previous white appearance. By stopping the bleaching of our packaging, we can contribute to a more efficient recycling process.
We have also switched to paper packing tape instead of plastic-based tape to enable a more significant percentage of packaging to be recycled.
Environmental Warehouse
Another way in which we are promoting the circular economy at Origin Storage is by improving our warehouse processes. We have adopted a new way to bring our SSDs and Memory into our warehouse and a new shipping method. From now on, all items will be vacuum-packed and shipped in appropriately sized boxes to reduce packaging and transport waste.
Recycling
Additionally, we are now collecting UPS batteries and recycling them for free. So, you can leave your UPS batteries with us and rest assured that we’re making an environmentally friendly contribution on your behalf.
